In the seventies, Eric Clapton made himself a guitar from his favourite parts of a bunch of Strats he had knocking around. He named it "blackie" because it was, well, black. It turned out to be an iconic instrument, more than the sum of it parts, and created some of the most memorable riffs of his career.
Ryo's a bit like Eric. Originally from Japan, now living in London, he has a lovely 2011 Bonneville which he's been playing with for some time now, adding bits, taking bits away, trying to find that elusive "one true bike". He came close but admits he needs our help to complete the puzzle.
Oh, and he wanted it black. Just like Eric.
